Copyright Policy
Effective September 27, 2026
Some details of this document are still being finalised. Each one is marked where it appears as to be confirmed and will be filled in on this page once it is settled.
Our Approach
ClipDesk respects copyright and expects its customers to. The Terms of Service make each customer responsible for having the rights to what they clip and publish. This policy explains how a rights holder can have material removed from ClipDesk, how a customer can respond, and how we treat repeat infringers. It follows the notice-and-takedown procedure of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), and we handle notices under similar laws elsewhere the same way.
What ClipDesk Can Remove
ClipDesk stores the source video it collects for its customers and the clips they make from it. We can remove that material from our storage, stop it being published again, and tell the customer.
A clip a customer has already posted is hosted by the platform it was posted to, and the original stream by the platform that streamed it. To have those removed, notify the platform as well, for example through YouTube's copyright form or X's form.
Designated Agent
Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:
- Agent. [Name of the designated copyright agent: to be confirmed], for [Legal name of the operator: to be confirmed]
- Address. [Postal address and phone number of the designated agent: to be confirmed]
- Email. lane.gg.support@gmail.com, with “Copyright notice” in the subject
- Registration. [US Copyright Office agent registration number: to be confirmed]
Sending a Notice
A notice must be in writing and include:
- the physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorized to act for them;
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed, or a representative list if the notice covers several works;
- the material you say infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it: a ClipDesk link, the address of the published post, or the source clip and the account that used it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
We may not act on a notice that leaves one of these out, and may ask you for what is missing.
What Happens Next
When we receive a valid notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the material it names and tell the customer, with a copy of the notice. That copy includes the details you gave in it, so the customer can respond. The notice counts against the customer's account as described under Repeat Infringers.
Counter-Notices
If you are the customer and believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send the designated agent a counter-notice that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before it was;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district of your address or, if your address is outside the United States, of any judicial district in which [Legal name of the operator: to be confirmed] may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent.
We send a copy of a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to stop the infringement, we restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice. Restoring it in ClipDesk does not repost anything a platform removed.
Repeat Infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of customers who infringe repeatedly. We review substantiated notices, counter-notices and the circumstances of each case when deciding whether to restrict or terminate access. Flagrant infringement may result in immediate termination.
False Notices
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for the damages that causes. Consider whether a use may be fair use before you send a notice. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, speak to a lawyer first.
Other Complaints
Complaints that are not about copyright, such as privacy, likeness, defamation or trademark, go to lane.gg.support@gmail.com. If you appear in content ClipDesk processed and want it removed, the Privacy Policy explains how.
